Managing the work of a model, entertainer or
actor-actress is complex and demands a variety of skills and
experience.
VIP Management takes on the management tasks related to maximizing
the potential of the talent’s career so they can concentrate on what
they do and love best, and what makes them the most money.
On a separate note, it is a fact that talent makes more
money represented by a quality experienced professional
than those that don’t
Newcomers And Fresh Faces
Marketing a first-time model, actor/actress or other
talent who is not well-known yet, can be much more
challenging. Hence the Agent – the Marketer. We take
on the tasks of marketing the talent – and once the work
starts to come in – of managing their career and
relieving them of the necessary administrative
responsibilities and functions.
If an aspiring model, actor/actress, entertainer or
performance artist tried to take on these tasks herself
or himself, they might be at a significant disadvantage.
Without industry experience, they may not know how to
go about marketing themselves – who to go to, how to get
an audience from the right decision-makers, what tools
to use to present and sell oneself, how to avoid the
numerous wolves and scam-artists who prey upon the
inexperienced and the naïve. Moreover, the process of
marketing one’s talent can become very expensive – and
is one arena where the laws of increasing returns to
scale definitely pay off.
A good agent is intimately familiar with all these
issues. Armed with experience, and the clout of a large
talent inventory, an agent knows and can get an audience
from the right Talent-Users, and can be of great value
to any talent. They can groom and advise the talent on
what to do, how to prepare, what tools to use and where
to get them, and how to present oneself. Such an agent
can easily present the talent to a number of different
potential customers.
The conventional manner in which most models are
marketed is through the means of Composite Cards. And,
major agencies and reputed agents – not the scams or
small-timers, but the ones who have the most famous
clients, longest experience, greatest success, best
connections, most of these are located in a precious few places like
Los Angeles, or New York. So, the following question
should come to mind.
So An Agent Is Needed But Why VIP Management Agency
The answer is YES
We looked to tomorrow’s world and pioneered a new
concept marketing talent and models from an electronic
storefront in cyberspace. We created a company that
reaches out to every corner, not just L.A. and New York.
Through the worldwide web we are able to reach out
and serve clients and customers just about anywhere.
Smaller or regional talent-users who do not have the
budget or access to the great talent pools of L.A. and
New York can use VIPManage.com for all their needs.
But we also spend a lot of time and energy on
getting our talent reviewed by Motion Picture,
Television and other Print and Video production industry
casting decision-makers in Los Angeles and New York
who in their turn are able to use us to access talent
far away from where they are, talent that they would
never have been able to connect with otherwise. The
photographs and other information about any model or
entertainer that would be used by any potential employer
to make a hiring decision about them is stored and
displayed by us at VIPManage.com. This data is
available by simply accessing our site.
Unlike conventional agents, who must use exclusivity as
a tool to maintain their high class image and perceived
profile, and hawk their clients’ Composite Cards and
Portfolios to the few customers they are hopeful might
buy, we concentrate on marketing our Models, and on
getting as many visitors as we can, thereby ensuring
that the largest number of people can view our clients
and become their fans, and that the most Model (&
Talent)-Users get an opportunity to review our talent
inventory online.
Top-billing agents who represent big stars and
celebrities will rarely, if ever, touch new faces it
is not profitable for them to do so, and it takes away
from their exclusivity.
We, on the other hand, are hunting for new faces
one of our business goals is to discover as many fresh
faces as possible, to develop the stars and celebrities
of tomorrow. Nobody knows who will be the next Beatles, the next
Kobe Bryant or the next , or perhaps the next Budweiser Frog mascot. We
want to be the ones who discover them, facilitate their
success and serve them in their entertainment industry
careers.
We are not a modeling school, and do not try to sell
training. (Although we will work with schools to market
their clientele.) Our costs are very low compared to
other businesses that purport to bring newcomers into
the professional modeling and entertainment arena.
One thing to consider, particularly for an aspiring
model or entertainer resident in a smaller town, or any
area where there is not a lot of local demand for talent
– is that much of the most desirable work to be had: at
the top end of the industry – may be localized in a
precious few places (like Hollywood or Manhattan). To
uproot and go to one of these places (where, generally,
the cost of living is very high) – without a very solid
job offer – might be fool-hardy, risky and inopportune.
And yet, without doing so – quite slim are the chances
of being noticed by or exposed to the bigger players and
decision-makers within the industry. For an aspirant in
this predicament, the advantage of registering with us
is that one can get the best of both worlds – we can put
their faces, talent or message on a high-traffic
commercial website where people come to shop for models,
entertainers or other talent. For a small fee, we take
on the task of striving to market talent, from wherever
they may be, to the powers-that-be, without the
incumbent talent having to take huge chances or make
life decisions about uprooting and relocating without a
job.
Even if someone is located in Los Angeles or New York,
or another major entertainment-media-fashion capital -
being marketed by us can be most advantageous. We
would make the necessary contacts, liaisons and pitches,
display the client online, and help generate interest
from the right decision-makers. We take a lot of the
sweat, the initial rejections and the unnecessary
expenses out of the process.
We solicit Talent-Users on a day-to-day basis on behalf
of our clients. We spend a lot of
man-hours, money, energy and other high-priced resources
to advertise, and professionally market our online
Models and talent – particularly to the Talent-User
community. Marketing the talent we represent – through
our website and in other ways – is our business. Our
clients (the talent) – once they are registered with us
– get noticed by Talent-Users who come to our site.
We do not guarantee that everybody on our site will get
great offers, or even come to the attention of the big
players. But we work our hardest to market our online
Galleries to as many potential decision-makers as
possible in the Media, Entertainment and Modeling
industries. And since agents are paid a commission that
is calculated as a percentage of the billing of the
talent they represent – we make very little money from
any client, until they get good, paying assignments.
And the more talent we add to our inventory -
experienced or fresh – the more leverage we obtain with
our customers. Hence, we are always on the lookout for
new faces and fresh talent to represent, and to market
to Talent-Users at the local, regional, national and
international levels.
What Kinds Of Individuals Are We Looking For?
A question we run into quite often is -
Who can be a Model?
The answer is – Almost Anybody. You do not have
to be beautiful, or tall, or slim – to find work as a
model, or in Motion Pictures or Television. Models are
used in commercials, actors and actresses in the movies,
or television. If you look at all the people who appear
in commercials on TV, or in sitcoms or the movies, then
you do not need us to tell you that not all models or
entertainers who appear on television or the silver
screen are Supermodel-types or GQ-Men. Indeed the tall,
leggy and extremely slender or brazenly blonde, or the
tall-dark-and-handsome-by-Armani image that is conjured
up for many people whenever they think – “Model”, or
“Hollywood Star” – is applicable to a very small
percentage of all the models who appear in commercials,
or entertainers who work in Hollywood.
That willowy Screen-Beautiful look is certainly popular
– if a model were to work in the high fashion world of catwalks and
runways in New York,
Paris and Milan, or play Beach Bunny on the sets of
Baywatch. And being photogenic and beautiful and
glamorous rarely hurts a person’s chances.
But it is not mandatory. Distinctive personality or
character, excellent work ethics, professionalism,
dedication to the project at hand, love of the work and
devotion to the industry, a single-minded drive and
determination to succeed – are far more important.
Ability to work well with make-up, be camera-friendly
and hold one’s poise are also crucial. Ultimately,
models are not used for their own beauty or even
character, but to create an impression or image, to
establish an association, and most importantly – to sell
a product. Actors and actresses are used to create
movies and entertainment, to make real a make-believe
for the viewers who pay to see it – who want to embrace
a little fantasy into their lives, and also see a little
part of their own lives in their fantasies.
The kinds of models and entertainers we – ergo, our
customers – seek, vary widely – all ages, genders, sizes
and shapes – from young women and men in perfect
physical condition for the more traditional fashion
shows and glamour-oriented modeling situations – all the
way to models for plus-size or maternity clothing,
babies, children – boys and girls of all ages, more
mature ladies and gentlemen, housewives, office-goers
and pets – for any kind of product, service or
non-profit campaign.
Other than models, we of course also market
actors/actresses, entertainers and performance artists
of every stripe – generally to the retail entertainment
and the motion picture-entertainment production
industries. Our representation services are also
available to other types of entertainers – such as
comedians, magicians and even clowns.
In addition, we handle professional speakers to
corporate training departments or executive retreats,
sports personalities and other celebrities to
organizations or private groups requiring them.

Are All Applicants Who Want To Be On The Model- Accepted?
No. But it should be noted that all applicants are
given fair consideration.
Please note that we cannot accept every applicant who
comes to us. We are, of course, selective. Upon
reviewing an applicant’s data, if we decide that we are
not in a position to be of service to their careers – it
is our prerogative to request the applicant to pursue
opportunities other than through our organization.
This does not imply in any way that such a candidate is
not fit or suitably talented. It just means that – in
our judgment: and to the best of our knowledge and
belief – they would not be optimally benefited by the
services our organization might be able to provide to
them at this time.
Please note that we are very discreet. If it is decided
that an applicant will not be a part of our talent
family at this time, for any reason, all data from that
application is purged from our system.
Information Privacy Notice
No information about or from any application is ever
sold to, or shared with, any third party (unless of
course it is pertinent information provided in the
course of trying to get work for a client). All
information we receive from either Talent (existing or
prospective) or Talent-Users is always treated as
completely confidential. If we do not use it for the
purpose for which it was provided to us in the first
place – we destroy the information, to protect the
privacy and privilege of all parties concerned.
How Does It All Work?
The applicants we do accept become members of the Vip Management
Agency.
As the Agents of the
talent, we represent the best interests of the talent,
including their security interests. Before we provide
any (non-public) information on any of our talent – to
any interested customer contacting us – we require the
interested party to provide us quite a bit of
information about their business, the purpose of their
contact and the specifics of the advertising campaign or
other project for which they will need the talent. Any
information they provide to us in this context is also
likewise treated as privileged information and kept
strictly confidential.
After we receive and review the information a customer
provides to us, and judge that the offer is suitable for
the talent that the customer has expressed an interest
in, we review the information with our client(s) – the
talent. If the talent expresses her or his interest, we
put the two parties together for initial consultations.
If all goes well, we proceed to work out the details and
put together the deal. If not, we try to recommend to
the prospective customers other talent (if any are
available) who might better meet the customer’s needs.
Once a deal is put together, we provide contracted legal
counsel for the talent – if this is required – and
continue to represent his or her interests for the
duration of the assignment or contract, including
participating in any contract renewal negotiations.
How Are Our Talent Paid?
Each client – model, entertainer or other talent – has
her or his own remuneration schedule. They can be paid
per billable hour, or by the day or week (plus
expenses), or on a per job basis. As their agents, we
negotiate the fee on a case by case basis. It is the
contractual obligation of our clients that they cannot
be contacted, employed or paid without our permission,
knowledge and participation. Depending on the terms of
our agreement with the talent, we receive a percentage
of what the talent is remunerated. That percentage
varies from one person to another, but is a fixed
lienable claim on the talent’s accrued income during the
period of our agreement.
Generally, our clients (the talent) are not paid
directly by the customer. We normally bill the
customer, and when the customer pays us, we pay the
talent.
It should be noted that we do not treat the talent as
our employees, but rather as independently contracting
referral buyers, who are responsible for their own taxes
and other statutory deductions.
